Porsche takes the all-electric Taycan to new heights with updated technology features, interior furnishings, and driver convenience. For car buyers in the market for a sports sedan, the Taycan isn’t lacking in the performance Porsche is known for. Additionally, the Taycan gets an appearance redesign, offering drivers a larger range of customizable variations.
The new Taycan gives drivers an exhilarating ride with its advanced all-electric engine and performance capabilities. Five trims are available: the base Taycan, 4S, GTS, Turbo, and Turbo S. Each trim is a four-door sedan, but buyers looking for extra cargo space can find it with the Cross Tourismo and Sport Tourismo wagon variations.
Additional Taycan specs include a gross battery capacity of 79.2 kW for the standard battery and 93.4 kW for the Performance Battery Plus. Charging speeds vary, with alternating current taking the longest at nine hours. Direct current charging can take as little as 22 minutes.
The Taycan packs a punch with its electric motor, which is capable of a maximum output of 240 kW. Drivers can step it up to 280 kW of power with the Performance Battery Plus, though. The base motor generates around 321 horsepower, while the Performance Battery Plus produces about 375 horsepower. Overboost Power with Launch Control gives the Taycan’s base motor up to 300 kW of power for a maximum output of 402 horsepower. The Performance Battery Plus tops this with 350 kW for a maximum output of 469 horsepower.
For safety, Porsche spares no expense. All Taycan models come standard with driver-assist technology, including forward collision warning, automated emergency braking, and lane-keep assist. Of course, shoppers can upgrade standard features to the available safety and technology packages for the upper trims.
Drivers will be thrilled with the Taycan’s interior features, which Porsche designs for optimum comfort and convenience. Standard features include eight-way power seats, multizone climate control, and ambient lighting. The technology gets a bit of an upgrade, with digital buttons replacing nearly all of their manual predecessors. Plus, an available head-up display and Porsche Connect technology can keep drivers in control with updates on vehicle range, route, and current charge.
