Green Porsche Taycan on road

Porsche offers two excellent environmentally-conscious vehicles that turn heads purely from performance. The Porsche Taycan and Porsche Cayenne E-Hybrid are both great picks, but which model is the better one for you?

Los Angeles area shoppers can rely on the team at Porsche Riverside to help break down each vehicle and potentially decide which one suits your needs more.

Performance

The most important thing to note between the two models is that the Taycan is an electric car while the Cayenne E-Hybrid, as its name suggests, is a hybrid.

The Taycan features a 402-hp, 300-kW AC Permanent Synchronous Motor while the Cayenne E-Hybrid contains a 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 engine with 100 kW electric motor.

The total system power of the Cayenne E-Hybrid is 455 hp and 700 Nm of torque, making it the more powerful performer of the two. Additionally, the Cayenne E-Hybrid has an 8-speed Tiptronic S transmission to help reduce fuel consumption, while the Taycan features a 2-speed transmission.

Design

Both vehicles seat five though the Cayenne E-Hybrid has a bit more cargo volume with 17.6 cubic feet compared to 14.3 on the Taycan.

As far as trim models go, the Cayenne E-Hybrid has a Turbo S E-Hybrid version and coupe variants for each, while the Taycan has a total of four different models available: the base model, 4S, Turbo and Turbo S.

With both models effectively having four different versions to choose from, the design nod may likely be decided based on preference. The Cayenne E-Hybrid is an SUV whereas the Taycan is a sporty luxury sedan.

Technology and Safety

It appears the Cayenne E-Hybrid and Taycan are neck and neck when it comes to infotainment tech and safety . The Taycan features built-in Apple Music and Porsche Voice Pilot while Porsche Communication Management, Apple CarPlay and a Burmester 3D High-End Surround Sound System highlight the Cayenne E-Hybrid.

Both models feature a plethora of safety features such as Porsche InnoDrive, adaptive cruise control and Night Vision Assist.
